Last year Prof. Alexander Branczyk und Prof. Lars Harmsen of Fh-Dortmund Design School invited us to hold a Trafo Pop workshop with 30 of their students, all the way in Amsterdam! The LED jackets were made during the workshop, where we used our brand new Mac OS X app, which lets you configure your jacket via a graphical user interface. We also produced a set of long time exposure photos (“Licht Malereien mit Typo Schwert und Buchstaben”) using a computer operated LED stick we custom built during this insightful workshop.
The products of the light exposure project are being exhibited at Ostwall in Fh-Dortmund. The exhibition entitled “Being Rem Cool Ass” features this and many other projects by the Dortmund students. The exhibition is only on until Saturday 25 April so make sure you go down to check it out!
